Since 2019 we have been organising Mordorkore, Berlin’s first (and only) medieval fantasy RPG-core rave and performance event.
Drawing on influences from LARP culture, ritualistic drag artistry, gabber, Gregorian chant, World of Warcraft, bardcore, Tarot, dancing plagues, industrial noise, Renaissance fairs, trance raves, Magic the Gathering, cosplay and Enya, we have worked to build highly decorated conceptualised immersive worlds in which our friends and guests are able to freely express and explore themselves and their personae and identities.
Mordorkore has now taken on a life of its own, with an audience of nerds who hadn’t found a place for themselves in clubland, building a community of participants who have helped shape and reshape the development of the project and its meaning.

We have showcased a lot of different DJs and performers including
Bulgarian Voices Berlin, Dornika, Dorian Electra, ¥€$Si PERSE, Deli Girls,
DJ Fingerblast, Iglooghost, s280f, Sissy Misfit, SHREK 666 and MAAY.
For us Mordorkore does not relate to a medieval world that is historical or fixed, but rather to a fantasy non-place, one characterised by certain archetypes – elves, orcs, magic, quests – that present hanging signifiers that can be taken up by performers and audience alike and developed individually, they are tools for the development of a collective liberated imaginary.
